Enova's HybridPower drive system provides all the functionality one would find under the hood of an internal combustion engine powered vehicle. The HybridPower system consists of an enhanced electric motor and the electronic controls that regulate the flow of electricity to and from the batteries at various voltages and power to propel the vehicle.

Operations and Technology

Electric, Hybrid Electric and Fuel Cell Drive Systems and Components
Enova's HybridPower drive system provides all the functionality one would find under the hood of an internal combustion engine powered vehicle. The HybridPower system consists of an enhanced electric motor and the electronic controls that regulate the flow of electricity to and from the batteries at various voltages and power to propel the vehicle.

In addition to the motor and controller, the system includes a gear reduction/differential unit, which ensures the desired propulsion and performance needs of the user. The system is designed to be installed in a "drop in," fully integrated turnkey fashion, or on a modular, "as-needed" basis.

Regardless of power source, including battery, fuel cell, diesel generator or turbine, the HybridPower electric motor is designed to meet the customer's drive cycle requirements.

The Hybrid Power Drive System Family
90kW Drive Systems
The right choice for light duty electric and series hybrid-electric vehicles. These systems can provide as much as 239NM of motor shaft torque and operate on a DC input voltage that can range from 250 to 425VDC.

120kW Drive Systems

The right choice for light trucks, delivery vans, and mid-sized buses using electric and series hybrid-electric propulsion. This system can provide 1664NM of drive shaft torque when used with our gear reduction unit and operates on a DC input voltage that can range from 250 to 425VDC.

240kW Drive Systems
The right choice for large trucks, and full-sized buses using electric and series hybrid-electric propulsion. This system can provide 3874NM of drive shaft torque when used with our gear reduction unit and operates on a DC input voltage that can range from 250 to 425VDC.

Energy Management Systems
These products are designed to work hand in hand with our drive systems to provide protection for your critical vehicle systems. Let us manage your battery pack and control your on-board generator to ensure a complete systems solution.

SERVICES

Enova's products are "production-engineered." Enova designs its products to ISO manufacturing and quality standards. Enova's redundancy of systems, robustness of design, and rigorous quality standards result in high performance and reduced risk.

Enova's Design and Build process revolve around;

  • Establish System Performance Requirements - We work with your team to establish critical performance and packaging requirements for the vehicle.
  • Simulate Vehicle Performance - We use state of the art simulation tools to evaluate vehicle performance based upon operating conditions and components selected.
  • Select Components and Create Detailed System Interconnect Diagrams - Based upon vehicle performance modeling and packaging constraints we select the best mix of drive system components to tailor your drive system to the vehicle.
  • Model Vehicle in Virtual Space - Using the latest in 3-D solid modeling software we build the vehicle in virtual space to ensure the all interference fits are eliminated before the first piece of metal is cut.
  • Component, System, and Vehicle Build - Once performance and all fits have been verified components, systems, and vehicle assembly begins.
  • Test to Specification - The completed vehicle is then tested to specification and signed off by the customer.

Additionally, Enova's proprietary software control of hardware provides the final layer of simplification by allowing common hardware to be used in unique applications by simply changing operating parameters in real time either during vehicle build or during integration and test. Enova's software design, a primary element of its intellectual property, is fundamental to the Company's competitive position.
