Company Statement

Finavera Renewables is a publicly traded company (TSX-V: FVR) dedicated to the development of renewable energy resources and technologies.

Finavera Renewables' objective is to become a major renewable and green energy producer by developing and operating its assets in the wind and wave energy sectors. In addition, Finavera Renewables is positioning itself to become a developer and supplier of renewable energy innovation through the acquisition of interests in key proprietary technologies.

Strategy: Capitalize on opportunities while balancing risk

Market Opportunities: Recent commitments by European and Canadian governments to generate 10% of electricity from renewable sources by 2010 have spurred significant growth in the renewable energy sector. In addition, demand for green energy sources has increased due to the desire for secure energy supplies and the use of renewables as a hedge against volatile fuel prices. The use of renewable energy has increased due to lower production costs, and an increasing awareness about globabl warming. Finavera Renewables was created to capitalize on this promising market opportunity.

Balancing Risk: Finavera Renewables presents a balanced and diverse portfolio of assets in wind and wave energy. To balance its risk profile, Finavera Renewables strives to underpin its future investment in the development of new renewable energy technologies (wave) with assets that can generate income in the near future (wind).

Proprietary Assets: Scale wind farms under development in Ireland and Canada; world leading wave energy technology and projects.

Management Team
: Finavera Renewables' management team has significant breadth and depth of experience in key business sectors, with expertise in finance, renewable energy, natural resource development and public company experience.

Alberta Region

- Ghost Pine Wind Project: Approximately 120km northeast of Calgary, Alberta.
Site Description
The project consists of two 75MW phases for a planned installed capacity of 150MW of wind power over 16,000 acres of land. The project areas are located in high efficiency wind resource area in central Alberta.

Permit Status
Land lease options are in place for the project site which comprises farmland. Wild life data collection has been ongoing since the beginning of the year and will continue for at least a further 12 months. It is envisaged that applications will be made to the Energy Utilities Board and to appropriate Alberta authorities, including Alberta Environment, in the next few months.

Potential Facility Size
75 MW

Project Overview

The first phase of the project, Ghost Pine, has received a grid connection offer from the AESO under Alberta’s self-imposed 900MW wind energy cap; the project is fifth on the list of firm capacity offered by AESO. Ghost Pine is at an advanced stage with construction planned to start in 2009 and commercial operations envisaged to commence in 2010.

- Lone Pine Wind Project: Approximately 120km northeast of Calgary, Alberta.
Site Description
The project consists of two 75MW phases for a planned installed capacity of 150MW of wind power over 16,000 acres of land. The project areas are located in high efficiency wind resource area in central Alberta.

Wave Projects
- Makah Bay: Washington State, United States.

Site Description
The offshore project will be located in the Pacific Ocean in Makah Bay, Clallam County, near the city of Neah Bay, Washington. The land portion part of the project is the property of the Makah Indian Nation. The aquatic portion of the project is within Washington State waters, the federal Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, and the Washington State Flattery Rocks National Wildlife Refuge.

Permit Status

Finavera Renewables filed an application to construct the offshore power plant with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in November 2006. An environmental document, known as a PDEA, was completed in October 2006 and includes environmental, oceanographic and biological studies conducted in Makah Bay. The PDEA concludes with a finding of no significant environmental effects from the technology on the human environment. To view the PDEA, click here.

Potential Facility Size

The Makah Bay project is planned as a 1 MW demonstration plant. It is expected to generate 1500 MWh/year, which is enough energy to supply about 150 homes in Neah Bay each year.

Project Overview
This wave energy pilot project in Northwest Washington State is one of the most advanced wave energy power projects in the United States. It is the first project to receive a power purchase agreement from a Public Utility, and it is in the final stage of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission licensing. The location was chosen for several reasons: depth proximity to shore, very good wave climate, shoreline transmission line, electricity demand in coastal communities, a participating publicly supported utility, and an interested landowner - the Makah Indian Nation.

- Humboldt County: California, United States.
Permit Status
The offshore project will be located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Eureka in Humboldt County. California.

Permit Status
Finavera Renewables filed, and has been granted, a preliminary permit application to investigate the feasibility of a wave power project with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in November 2006. The Company has signed a 2 megawatt long term power purchase agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric for this project.

Potential Facility Size
The Humboldt County project is originally planned as a 2 MW demonstration plant. The FERC permit is being pursued with the expectation of expanding the project to 100 megawatts.

Project Overview
This wave energy project in Northern California is one of the most advanced wave energy power projects in the United States as it has North America’s first signed commercial power purchase agreement.

-South Africa: Western Cape
Site Description
Finavera Renewables is conducting a micro-site assessment that considers the energy infrastructure, wave resource, and environmental characteristics of the South Africa location.
