Company Information for Sun Technics GmbH

Company Statement

From design to implementation, from financing to maintenance– SunTechnics is the one-stop shop for renewable energy solutions. SunTechnics offers turn-key solutions in photovoltaic, solar thermal, small wind, biomass and hybrid technologies utilizing unparalleled engineering expertise and the highest standards in terms of quality, efficiency and service around the globe. This approach is what has allowed SunTechnics to become the European market leader in renewable energy.

SunTechnics has been a key player in the German and European markets for over a decade, and has also expanded its business activities to the North American and Asian continents. SunTechnics has established branches in the USA, South Korea, India and Singapore.

Leveraging our experience installing over 5,000 turn-key systems worldwide, we offer our customers outstanding engineering services individually customized to their needs with high quality products, superior support and extensive consulting services. SunTechnics’ expertise is as broad as it is deep, encompassing projects as varied as off-grid solar systems for remote telecommunication systems in the Swiss Alps, the world’s largest roof-mounted PV power plant on Michelin’s manufacturing facilities in Germany and biogas plants producing electricity from agricultural waste in India.

The core of our philosophy is to be close to our customers in order to understand their needs. We do more than provide a great product – with professionalism and speed we provide complete energy solutions that are not only practical and economically attractive, but also help create a better world.

Operations and Technology

As the leader in renewable energy solutions in the European market, we develop and use components of only the highest quality. SunTechnics products stand for innovation in technology and design. Our SunTechnics product portfolio covers the whole range of renewable energy solutions, and we include in our systems SunTechnics branded solar modules, inverters, mounting systems and solar thermal collectors. Also for the wind and biomass technology solutions we use products which are exclusively manufactured for SunTechnics.

All these products are developed to meet requirements of our demanding and diverse set of customers worldwide.

We leverage our experience of installing several thousand systems worldwide to design and optimize the world’s best components.

SunTechnics mounting systems for solar thermal and photovoltaic installations for example provide controllable statistics according to DIN 1055. Only premium materials such as aluminium and stainless steel are used in the production to guarantee high corrosion resistance and maximal durability, as well to be easily recycled after they have served their use.

SunTechnics offers three kinds of photovoltaic applications: On-Grid Photovoltaics, Off-Grid Photovoltaics and Built-In Pholtovoltaics.

Photovoltaics On-Grid

Photovoltaic (PV) technology turns energy from the sun into electricity. The photons from the sun create an electrical charge. Several modules are linked together and connected to an inverter, which takes the direct current (DC) and converts it into alternate current (AC). The system is connected to the local electric grid and feeds in the electricity produced by the energy from the sun. The on-grid PV installations can differ in size from small installations for residential houses with only a few Kilowatts of power to large-scale Megawatt power plants.

Off-Grid Solutions

A photovoltaic off-grid solution is very similar to an on-grid photovoltaic solution, with the exception that the electricity generated by the off-grid system is directly consumed and is not fed into the main electricity grid. Off-grid systems have a battery backup to store energy for use when the sun is not shining and the PV generator is not producing. Off-grid systems can also integrate various sources of energy in order to provide a more reliable energy supply. For instance a photovoltaic generator can be combined with a wind generator. Such systems are called hybrid systems.

Solar Thermal Solutions

Solar thermal energy generation converts the thermal energy of the sun into a usable form. The sun´s rays hit the solar thermal collector, which captures the thermal energy of the sun and transfers the heat to a fluid. This fluid transports the heat to a storage tank from where it is used for applications like domestic hot water, space heating (i.e. radiant floor heating) or swimming pool heating.

Solar Cooling Solutions

solar cooling system consists of a thermally driven chiller that utilizes solar thermal energy (heat) to drive the cooling process. Water is evaporated from vacuum-sealed air lowering the temperature 6 °C. A standard air distribution system is used to circulate the cool air throughout the building. In winter, the solar thermal energy can be used to heat the building.

Small Wind Solutions

A small wind generator uses the wind’s energy to generate electricity. Applications range from 100W up to 100kW. The energy from the wind turbine can either feed into the grid, or be used as an off-grid system. The potential to generate wind energy varies from location to location, but wind generation boasts the capability to produce 24 hours a day. Most wind generators last over 20 years.

Hybrid Solutions

Hybrid Solutions combine two or more renewable energy solutions, such as PV, Wind or Biomass.
