Idatech Signs A Milestone Deal, And Now Has Rather A Lot To Live Up To

The Aim market’s embattled fuel cell sector received a boost amid the recent market carnage as Idatech, an Oregon-based back up power systems developer, secured its first major commercial order. The order was with Indian telecoms infrastructure business ACME.

The deal, which should truly place Idatech on the map, is for the supply of up to 30,000 5kw fuel cell systems, for delivery through to 2013. The deal gives ACME exclusive distribution rights to the Indian market, where the back up fuel cell systems will be sold on to telecoms operators to provide crucial back up power supplies in the event of power cuts. Initially, Idatech will supply 310 systems in 2009 with a further 9,690 systems to be delivered in 2010, assuming the technology reaches...
