Zenergy Poised To Make Transition From R&D To Commercial Sales

Commercial interest in the high-temperature superconductive market is growing driven by the need to increase energy efficiency. High-temperature superconductors (HTS) improve the economic and energy efficiency of electrical equipment in numerous areas including renewable power generation and energy-intensive industrial processes. They can also be used to improve the stability of national power grids.

AIM-listed Zenergy Power is at the forefront of the commercialisation of HTS products. With its HTS induction heater, Zenergy has the first large-scale commercial product world wide. Following this a fault current limiter (FCL) is under development to protect the power grid. Both applications use existing 1G HTS wire, which will be replaced with 2G HTS available in one to two years.  Zenergy believes that its addressable annual market is €14 billion.
