Zenergy Power: Order Book Disappoints But Milestones Are Being Met

Aim-quoted Zenergy Power develops and manufactures commercial applications for high-temperature superconductive (HTS) materials that transmit electricity with little or no energy loss. One of the multiple products Zenergy has developed - an HTS induction heater - is already in commercial operation. Zenergy has sold one induction heater and has another on order. HTS technology can give significant savings in renewable power generation by allowing the use of smaller, lighter and cheaper generators than those that use the incumbent copper-based technology. Another application is fault current limiters (FCLs).

Last July Zenergy installed the world’s first commercial HTS induction heater in an aluminium processing company called Weseralu in Germany. Weseralu is allowing this heater to be used as a showcase and it has been visited by more than 40 potential customers. In October Weseralu released operations data showing that the heater had resulted in a 25 per cent increase in productivity and a halving of energy consumption. Zenergy is close to completing an expansion of its German manufacturing...
