Agriprods/Poweralternatives Combined Forum

25th November 2008

Bishopsgate and Chancery Room
Andaz Hotel, Liverpool Street EC1
(Formerly Great Eastern Hotel)

Registration - 9am
Presentations beginning at 9.30am

The 1st Agriprods Forum in September was such a success that we are building on it with a 2nd one which will combine agriprods companies with some from the poweralternatives website. This combined Forum will take place at the Andaz Great Eastern Hotel on November 25th and attendees should book early as both of these sectors hold great attractions for investors in these difficult times.

With agriprods it is a simple case of demand outstripping demand for food of all varieties with acreage used for biofuels exacerbating the situation throughout the world. The industrial revolutions in China and India mean that their huge and more prosperous populations are seeking to upgrade their diets, while in this country the supermarkets, with the connivance of the government, have decimated the agricultural industry under the promise of cheap food Now things have changed and security of supply are the watchwords as land prices rise and technology improves.

In view of the attention now being paid to pollution and the security, sufficiency and price of oil and gas supplies it is essential that new sources of power are developed as soon as possible. Poweralternatives focuses on the companies that are developing new technologies for power generation other than from fossil fuels. Investors will need to pick and choose with care as it is already clear that wind turbines are less than efficient, and have to be subsidised heavily, while biofuels put pressure on food prices as already explained.
