Pursuit Dynamics PLC ('Pursuit') was founded in 2000 to develop and commercialise the PDX® platform technology. The PDX technology is protected by 50+ patents granted and pending with Pursuit owning 100% of the intellectual property. Applications identified range from food, brewing and dairy industries through to oil and gas - all benefiting from the substantial time, cost and energy savings released by PDX. Further innovation has resulted in the FireMist® system that can produce smaller liquid droplets and project them further, with greater turbulence, than any competing system.
In 2005 Pursuit commenced commercialisation of the technology in both the food and beverage industry and the field of fire suppression. In the food and beverage market a global distribution network has been established with systems licensed to companies in the UK, mainland Europe and the Americas. Pursuit Dynamics has also executed a global license agreement with Tyco Fire and Building Products, a global leader in the field of fire suppression.
Other opportunities under development include applications in the brewing, decontamination, bio-ethanol and oil and gas industries.
Our strategy remains simple: to leverage our intellectual property by developing commercial applications for the PDX technology across a range of industries.

The Pursuit Dynamics BASILISK® mist delivery system
Introduction
At Pursuit Dynamics PLC, our paramount focus is to ensure our customers are leaders in their market, through the innovative technology we are committed to developing and commercialising.
We are dedicated to delivering revolutionary products to our customers to provide, fast, efficient, time and energy saving solutions for their businesses.
Our strategy remains simple: to leverage our intellectual property by developing commercial applications for the PDX® technology across a range of industries.
PRODUCTS:
PDX Basilisk
The Pursuit Dynamics BASILISK® mist delivery system represents a step change in process capabilities within both military and commercial decontamination arenas. The unique combination of continuous high flux turbulent flow, with super fine droplet sizes down to 2.5 microns offers an augmentation of capabilities for both airborne and surface decontamination applications. The technology is robust and easy to use and is scaleable both up and down and is capable of delivering a wide range of materials, whether liquid, slurry, powders or polymers.
PDX Firemist
The Pursuit Dynamics FireMist® system is a revolutionary water mist system for fire and explosion suppression. This unique supersonic water mist system generates an almost instantaneous volume-fill of high surface area super-fine droplets which has been shown to suppress fires both more quickly and with lower water usage than conventional systems.
Pursuit Dynamics has a global license agreement with Tyco Fire and Building Products for development and commercialisation of its PDX FireMist technology platform.
PDX Sonic
The PDX® Sonic is distributed by Pursuit Processing Equiment Ltd (PPE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pursuit Dynamics PLC, which includes the business of BPT Skerman. PPE was established to provide modern solutions for the business needs of today. We tailor our expertise of the PDX technology and our understanding of your business to provide processing equipment to deliver the results you need. Our award-winning, high performance, shockwave technology has worldwide applications within food, beverages, brewing, dairy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
The PDX Sonic delivers fast, flexible and efficient liquid food processing solutions. High performance technology enhancing your business, this is PDX technology.
The PDX Sonic offers significantly reduced processing times and dramatically cuts clean in place requirements without compromising on quality or flavour. It is a revolutionary fluid processing solution that can homogenise, emulsify, entrain, pump and heat with impressive performance.
The PDX Sonic also provides potential reduction in ingredient quantities, such as starch, gums and spices. It typically eliminates the need to pre-slurry powders as it contains multi-stage processes in one system. It provides both traditional and modern day food manufacturers with a fast, reliable and cost effective system in food production, delivering dramatically reduced costs and improved productivity whilst preserving or improving product quality and consistency.
PDX Wort Heater
The PDX® Wort Heater is a product of Pursuit Processing Equipment Ltd (PPE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pursuit Dynamics PLC, which includes the business of BPT Skerman. The PDX Wort Heater harnesses shockwave technology to provide highly efficient energy solutions for the brewing industry.
Pursuit Processing Equipment, with major industry partners, has proved that the PDX Wort Heater offers large energy savings, enhanced volatile stripping, increased process controllability, and reduced processing time for the intensive wort boiling process without compromising on quality or flavour.
The PDX Wort Heater provides a substantial energy saving of up to 50%, at point of use. Imagine, supersonic shockwave technology providing speed, efficiency and simplicity whilst dramatically reducing your energy costs.
PDX Reactors
By utilising specially modified PDX reactors linked in series, the company can now offer bioethanol plants a level of efficiency previously unattainable by conventional methods of grain pre-treatment in an easily installed, low footprint format.
The PDX Ethanol Reactor Tower is the result of a two year intensive research programme, culminating in successful trials at the highly respected National Corn to Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) in the US Midwest in 2007.
The technology will be installed in its first full scale bioethanol plant in Spring 2008, following the recent signing of a deal with Pacific Ethanol Inc.
HOW IT WORKS:
The PDX® Reactor utilises a supersonic vapour flow and condensation shockwave, which is generated from the injection of high velocity steam. Steam is introduced into a special annular "conditioning" chamber that is wrapped around the core of the PDX Reactor unit. From here, it is injected into the process fluid at supersonic conditions generating high levels of shear and turbulence within the process fluid, leading to the creation of a controllable cross bore condensation shockwave. The combination of these mechanisms provide unsurpassed homogenous mixing, agitation and heating of the process fluid.
The PDX FireMist® and BASILISK® atomisation technology is a high flux mist delivery system. It surpasses all current technology in projecting a continuous high-volume mist of small droplets that exhibit gas-like behaviour, delivered with high residual turbulence over a great distance. It offers a step change in the use of water-mist technology within fire suppression and decontamination fields.
The PDX atomisation technology utilises supersonic gas flow to atomise a working fluid, for example water, and project the resulting dense plume of fine droplets into the atmosphere. Any gas may be used, including steam, air and nitrogen. The impact from the supersonic gas stream leads to shear break-up of the water generating a turbulent mist plume, which, although comprised of very small droplets, can be rapidly projected a significant distance.
Providing a step-change from conventional systems in continuous mist flux and turbulence enables the PDX BASILISK system to achieve new levels of performance in a large variety of applications:
Airborne Toxic Industrial Chemical (TIC) suppression and reduction in secondary conflagrations
Airborne Chemical and Biological cloud neutralisation and suppression
Large area surface decontamination or deposition
Complex and non line of sight surface decontamination and demilitarisation applications
Blast mitigation and secondary blast suppression through proactive high mass loading of water-mist in blast area
Particle scrubbing.
